So I had to go with this piece of my blog for many reasons. For one it being the first illustrated book is within itself makes it a piece of history. Myself being a design student and all you realize how much illustrations can really help convey what you're trying to say so much better. Although when I first looked at this piece I didn't think it was about a king dreaming of all the people pleading for his help. I thought that all these men were coming to kill the king in his sleep. Especially with the picture of the knights it almost looks like they're going to attack him. So this can be as to why incorporating the text with the pictures really helps. I do love the faces on the people in need and the bright red which really draws your eyes into the pictures. It's pretty awesome that when the king woke up he changed his ways. I've never really had a dream have that much of an impact on me that I wanted to change my life when I woke up.
